How good is the sports center? & other exercising programs/equipments and how accessible is boston (in actuality)?

like, is there an indoors pool?

Yes, there is a pool with a dive tank and a very nice athletic center at Wellesley. We got a tour of the facilities when we were visiting. Like many colleges, Wellesley requires 2 semesters of PE. I believe the PE requirement at Wellesley can be waived if you play varsity or club sports. However, the PE offerings make me want to take a class: dance, yoga, skiing, horseback riding, golf...

Here is a link to the athletic facilities site:

We were told that Boston is accessible by bus, but some students complained that the 30-40 min ride was too long. My daughter does not mind, since it is exactly the same as the time it takes us to get to Seattle from our house.

I will probably take a few business classes at MIT and Babson and was just wondering if it is difficult to sign up,,, what is the registration process like?

woops sorry i thought i was posting a new thread hehe sorry

I never use the Sports Center, because I don't really work out. I have friends who complain about the number of machines versus demand for them and that the sports center is isolated from part of campus. There is an indoor pool, which closed for renovations a while back, but should be open soon.

Our sports center is a complete joke compared to other colleges. It desperately needs to be updated.

I'm an athlete at Wellesley. (I'm a diver). The pool is beautiful!

We have lots of basketball courts, tennis courts (indoor and outdoor), squash courts, etc.

The workout equipment is mediocre. We do have a weight room.

Also, Wellesley has a PE requirement. So, you have to take yoga or table tennis or cardio or swimming or tennis, etc. It's fun though!

Message me if you have other questions about sports (or wellesley).... ksorenso@wellesley.edu

do we have access to MIT's sport center? or do we need a friend to get us in there? I visited MIT when I went for Spring Open Campus and they have a GREAT giant gym/swim pool/sport center

You have access to MIT sports facilities if you buy a Pera membership. It's around $100 for some length of time. Honestly, I don't think a pool and weight machines are worth a 40 minute bus ride. However, their sailing pavillion and ice rink are quite snazzy.
