hi there,
any other spring 2006 transfers? whats your housing situation like? i'm going to be an upper division transfer student and will probably have to look for a place off campus...ive done research and called some apartments, but have yet to visit and take a look at some...are any of u already settled and confirmed in getting a place yet? i dont start until the 30th, but kind of worried i'll be stuck with an apt that will cost alot since there isn't much time left until the start of the semester...i'll probably go see some in middle of this week. the school i'm transferring to is about 2 hr drive away...so if i cant find an apt for my liking might have to deal with the hassle of making that long drive everyday...for those of you that are going to school close to home, within a 1-3 hr drive..did u guys decide to stay at home or get a place near by to school? thanks for your help, just alittle uneasy about this situation

Eeeerrrrr, where are u at?

SF Bay Area..transferring to sonoma state

I live at home and commute about an hour (though it has taken up to 2, and on the day of my final exam, 2 and a half hours) each way to campus, everyday. Honestly, I wish I lived on campus or closer. I suppose it depends on what you're looking to get out of college & where you're at in your studies, but as a freshmen, one of the reasons why I'm transferring is because I'm attending a commuter campus and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot. It's difficult to feel involved because I don't want to spend the extra time/gas driving to school when I don't need to be there, and I don't normally see the friends I've made through school for the same reasons. I'd suggest getting the apartment if you think these things might affect you, but if you're just going for the academics, commuting is definitely doable and less expensive.

thanks for replying.yeah i'd prefer to live closer to the campus and just experience living on my own, stuff like that...even though its only a 1-2 hr drive...but it would be more cost effective to jsut commute...but i'm not even sure if i'll stay at the school permanently since i'm waiting on other schools admission for next fall...so i'll see..just experiencing and going away for college, which i havent done before..since my previous school was only 10-15 mins away from home
