transfer housing

so where are you guys gonna live?

im going to send my housing app in tomorrow, any recommendations as to where I should apply? I want as close to campus as possible.

don't even bother trying for on-campus housing. even though it's a long shot, try applying for places like troy east, cardinal gardens, etc.

if they are already accepting applications for housing, transfers will (edited out-JEM). I bet nearly everyone has already or is in the process of sending in their housing app. Where (edited out - JEM) are transfers gonna live then if they plan to live on campus???? I would strongly prefer to live on campus

afterhours, how impossible will it be for me to get campus owned housing?
I applied for cardinal gardens, troy hall, troy east, las, and 2 other ones.

i'm living in conquest's chateau sera. i didn't even bother trying to get usc-owned housing (bad move?). my next step is to try and figure out how to get an on-campus parking permit.

is it even possible for transfers to get a place on campus? i have always been under the impression that transfers to any school are on their own when it comes to finding a place to live. i hope im wrong, because i'd love to live on campus.

i didnt apply for on campus housing, I applied for campus-owned housing (which is off campus)

oxygen, how much is does it cost where you'll be living?

domino - for my 1 bedroom/bathroom/kitchen apartment (520 sq. feet), it's going to be (for three people) around $415 a month. the apartment includes free t3 internet and dish cable too.

nice, are there any websites with more info?

<a href="http://www.conquesthousing.com%5B/url%5D">www.conquesthousing.com</a>.</p>

if you go to "leasing" and then click on "clickhere for unit availability list," you can see what's left. there's not a ton, but you may be able to find something suitable.

its all studios, and the pricing is ridiculous. $1100 for a studio? they have studios on venice beach for around $900.

I have yet to meet one transfer that got on-campus housing. Try your best to get a place like Troy Hall/East or Cardinal Gardens because it's a lot better and convenient than some private owned places. If you can't get those, try looking at the roommate ads on the Conquest site (<a href="http://www.conquest-usc.com%5B/url%5D">http://www.conquest-usc.com</a>) and split rent.

For your LAST resort (very risky), you can go to the housing center on-campus on the 1st day of school and ask for any leftover apartments. Sometimes you'll find some good places like Troy Hall and Cardinal Gardens, but honestly I wouldn't bet your housing situation on it - sometimes they have nothing available. If you end up doing this get there EARLY cause there is usually a line.

can u apply for housing even though ur not accepted yet?

im sure virtually all attending students have sent in their housing apps, so that leaves transfers with crappy housing. They do not reserve any amount of housing for transfers or do they just like to screw us over?? Man, this is frustrating. I really wanna live on campus. Its hard enough being a transfer and making new friends, but its gonna be alot harder when ur living off campus. Arggg
