Spring 2010 Transfers

Congratulations, polcat!

Polcat, I’m also applying for liberal arts. If you dont mind could you let me know your GPA and hour earned so far? So I can compare with mine.

Mines a min of 3.1 max of 3.3 with 74 hrs.

I had 72 hours completed with about a 3.6-3.7gpa. I’m not sure which hours didn’t transfer so I am not sure of the exact GPA they used. Good luck to all of you guys!

thanks for all the congrats also

That’s cool that you already heard. I contacted A&M and they said they don’t send out letters or notify applicants until the close of the application deadline. I guess that shows you most of them don’t know or don’t want to tell the truth.

yeah I’m applying for BME to for spring 2010. They changed my major to general engineering as well. I called and they said it could be for any number of reasons, including that there is no space. Then i checked this morning only to find that they had changed it (again!) to Electrical Engineering. I called again and got pretty much the same vague answer. Maybe Ill get m decision in the next week or so, looking at what people are saying on here…

Congrats Polcat!

Yeah, my application is on EE right now as well. Second time it has changed. Supposedly it doesn’t mean anything besides another department is currently looking at your application.

It still shows that I’m on the majors I selected. Could be good news, could also be that BME hasn’t started reviewing yet.

well my status just changed to Step 4. [A DECISION WAS MAILED ON 10/13/09] But they haven’t put the decision itself online yet. Do they send out rejection letters before the deadline? I can only keep my fingers crossed and hands together (praying lol). My major is still on Electrical engineering by the way, if i get in it hopefully won’t be a problem switching back to BME later.

What does everyone’s AIS look like? Last time I applied, in spring, it had a chart of what they needed(transcripts), it doesn’t have that now, just the ‘documents’ tab. Everything looks like it’s in, as it should be, but I’m on Step 2 “Submit required application Credentials”. I only applied on Friday though.

ataboy23, keep checking your status. Sometimes it takes a couple of days for Step 5 to pop up if you have been admitted. Let us know the results! Good luck!

Question for you guys. I just got moved up to step 5 today and the application deadline hasn’t even closed yet. Is that good news or bad? It says an application decision was mailed on 10/13/09.

Step five is awesome, means you now get to choose to accept or reject acceptance I believe. I got moved to step four today, says a decision was mailed on the 13th of October… my application is still on Electrical Engineering… for the major, got switched from Mechanical.

ok, i’ll keep checking. I don’t even see a step 5 option though, does it just add on when you get admitted?

And aggiewannabe, I got moved to step four too and mailed yesterday as well (still in electrical engineering too), I guess we’re in the same “decision party” or whatever they call it…

I meant to say step 4 and I originally applied for mechanical as well but got switched to general engineering. Probably because I am current taking calc 2 and eng physics. Let me know what happens with you. I contacted oar and like usual they couldn’t help me. But I am thinking like you, why would they deny anyone before the application deadline? Anyway I am being optimistic and hopeful.

What are your GPAs? Mine is 3.31 mainly because most of my courses were taken in high school and counted as dual credit. I am just applying as transfer instead of freshman because I have enough credits.

I’m retakig 2 classes this semester, they will bump my GPA a lot, should I call A&M and let them know? Or do you think they will see from my current schedule? My app depends a lot on this. I dont want to risk waiting until Christmas break for reconsideration.

Splinter, they know. When you filled out your application there was a section where you give the classes you plan on completing prior to admission. I am retaking a class right now as well; however, I have met with my advisor about four different times before applying - so shes well aware. Have you contacted any of the advisors?

My GPA is a 3.0 on the spot, I did really bad my freshman year of college. (i had graduated from high school at age 16 and really had no academic direction) but from then on my GPA is about 3.91 from the school i transferred to after my freshman year of college. I explain most of it in my essays, so I’m hoping they look at the essays and my current trend in grades, which is pretty much all A’s since that first year… I’ve also completed Calculus I and II and I’m taking Engineering Physics 1, Calculus 3, and Engineering Statics right now.
