I hear SS is the easiest to get in…but I have no idea. Whenever I call admissions they are very vague about GPA of each college.

I went to UTSA for 2 semesters. Some changes happened to the TCCN equivalency for some classes there (after I took the classes…) so many I got As in won’t be calculated in UT transfer GPA. And I failed a class that doesn’t even go towards my degree (couldn’t drop because I was in CAP so I needed the hours)
I am enrolled in ACC for the next semester to boost my GPA.

I’m focused on applying for Fall 2015, but thinking about applying for spring (if y’all think it’s worth a shot)

Around 55 credit hours after this Fall.
•College transferring from: ACC
•current/expected GPA: 3.27 after fall, 3.48 after spring 2015
•College applied for: COLA, CSW, UGS
•1st and 2nd choice majors: International Relations and Global Studies, UGS
hoping to get 2 rec letters from summer school professors (currently taking classes) or fall profs.
•list of volunteer/extracurricular activities: 200<hours, clubs at UTSA, many extracurriculars from HS (if it matters)

Is it true that UGS doesn’t accept students who have 60 hours and up?
My main goal is to get into UT, major/degree is negotiable.

Thanks for your response @135pipe I really pray that I get in this time. If you don’t mind me asking, did you apply spring at one point?

@DeeGeeErbear Thanks! Is there any way I can improve my chances, or is it all based on luck at this point? lol.

@135pipe will it make a difference if I get all A’s this semester?? I really don’ t know how to calculate gpa… lol

@StrawberryLover
No I was the kid that got rejected twice and finally accepted after appealing again. Btw freshman 2014
Absolutely the better the grades the better the chances

So I guess I’m applying for Spring 2015!

GPA: 3.60
Hours: 30
Major applying for: Psychology (maybe neuroscience) and Undeclared Liberal Arts
I have a great resume and some good essays. I don’t know if I will be able to reuse my LOR’s but if I can I will do that I have 3. :b

I haven’t decided if I’m going to do Calc 1 at my CC or not.
I have one drop due to a medical emergency and a doctors note to explain that.
I’ve worked 3 jobs and I have excellent extra curricular activities.
I will probably be able to get my GPA up to a 3.7 maybe 3.8…
Hopefully it works out this time :/

Theres a GPA calculator on the UT website. Just look up UT GPA Calculator. @StrawberryLover

Hello, Im transferring from UTEP. I currently have a 3.19 gpa. I want to apply to the college of liberal arts at UT and major in Psychology. For my second major i plan on putting UGS undeclared for now. I haven’t started on my essays yet because 'Im worried about how to structure them. I asked 3 three teachers for letters of recommendations. One teacher is my university teacher who got to know me very well, second is my psych professor, and third is my philosophy professor. I have only a few volunteer activities under my belt but I am definitely going to participate in a lot more this summer like helping with a campaign. As far as extracurricular goes, I have been in music pretty much from middle school to college. I went to UNT and studied music performance there for a while and I was a part of UTEP’S Wind Symphony. Basically, I am VERY musically inclined I just decided to not pursue a career in it.
Please give me as much information as you can, I really want to get into UT in the Spring or fall or 2015.

@babylonghorn Hey I know this is kind of off topic but I noticed you’re transferring from ACC and I was wondering if you could tell me about the school. Ill be finishing up my basics there this coming fall :)

@psych19 I will be a new student at ACC this fall. From what I’ve heard, it is a pretty good CC and has small classes (~36 seats). I am looking forward to going because it seems to be a good school to transfer from because they are pretty in tune with what is going on at UT. How many transferable hours do you have? Are you transferring your credits to ACC and then applying to UT?

@DeeGeeErbear Do you know anything about Cockrell. Like, what GPA would you recommend I have to be accepted. I have a 3.79 right now. Also, by the time I apply, I should have completed Calc 1 & 2, physics, and chemistry.

@StrawberryLover There’s an app called My GPA in the app store if you have an iphone. I use that and it calculates GPA easily.

@Psych19
Getting into ut with that low gpa is a high reach. Just kill those essays and recommendations and you have a chance. Otherwise no. That’s way too low for liberal arts not too low for ugs. If you want psych reach for a 3.7+ if possible.

@135pipe does UGS accept transfers with over 60 hours?

No must be under 60 i believe

@315pipe will a 3.28 gpa be considerable for UGS? If I wait until after spring it will go up but then I’ll have over 60 hours.

Yes it will
Honestly your gpa has screwed your chances and your hours make it impossible to bring it up.
3.28 would be extremely hard to get into ut austin
Either don’t transfer certain credits to limit the hours or bring that gpa really high to get into liberal arts 3.4+
I would suggest the lather forget ugs shoot for liberal arts with a 3.4+ gpa

Thanks @135pipe, I think I will apply for UGS spring just in case, appeal, and then apply with that higher gpa for cola for fall if I don’t get in by then.

UT’s UGS transfer acceptances have the same average GPA (roughly 3.6) as COLA and CNS. Also, UGS’ acceptance rate is about 33-34% vss. 44% for COLA and 49% for CNS.
