What happens at spring break - particularly in the north east? Does everyone leave campus? Do people go home or go travelling?

I might be staying on campus, I just hope the dining hall will be open...

Since my choir won’t be touring anywhere, I’ll just be going home for two weeks. I’m going to plan my summer internship with my church director during that time, and spending some time relaxing and researching grad schools.

I think most folks go home.

I go to the library.

I think most people either go home or on vacation.

Alternative spring break! (community service trip)

^ I would love to do one of those some time. However, since I’m only a freshman, and since our semester is scheduled so that once I leave home tomorrow, I won’t be back until the middle of March, I’m going HOME. :)

Spring break is so short for me (one week), so I can’t really go anywhere. My sister is actually thinking about flying over to visit me from Washington, so that will be interesting. I’m pretty much going to stay in my apartment during the break. The sucky part is that I don’t have a car, so…

I currently don’t have plans and I don’t wanna go home again -___-. I wanted to go on a cruise with my friends from other colleges but none of our breaks are at the same time :(

Alternative Spring Breaks are good fun. Did one last year, I enjoyed it.

I am quiet honestly surprised no one has said partying in Mexico

Well, my parents would never fund that, and they won’t let me have a job during school, so that’s kinda out of the question.

ABS, go home, go on a trip with your frat/srat, go on a trip with friends to a beach.

It’s pretty rare for people to stay on campus unless they’re international students. Most campuses close, meaning most people are gone, there’s nothing to eat, and you have to get special permission to stay.

My dad won’t pay for a $3000 beater of a car so I can get to a job/internship with ease. He sure as hell ain’t gonna pay for a trip to Mexico (and I’d probably go partying in Florida, Mexico’s become gangland). And I sure as hell can’t afford it on my own.

Most people I know go to either New Orleans or Panama City Beach/Destin to party. Some do alternative spring break trips and I’ve known a few groups that go on week long cruises. But I’m not in school in the NE…I’m in TN for reference.

“I am quiet honestly surprised no one has said partying in Mexico”

I’m moving overseas next year, and I couldn’t care less about partying in Mexico. If I went, it would be with my parents to visit a sponsor child we have there.

So no partying? Are you serious? I thought college was all about parties.

A lot of people I know go to the beach or go to big cities like Chicago or NYC. Some people also do spring break study abroad programs. Personally I don’t see how people can afford big vacations during every break. Usually I’m either working and I don’t have time to do anything, or I’m unemployed and I can’t afford to do anything. I always try to do something though, like visit friends in other cities or go to a concert.

I stayed at school last year due to a club I am in, and I will do the same this year. The majority left, but there were a few people who stayed. It was never boring because we went to movies, partied, etc. It was fairly relaxing.

Dining at my campus is open during spring break as well (but only in a limited number of locations). That may very from campus to campus, though.

^^^pretty sure every uni is like that?
