spring transfer

so im taking a semester off from college to save up some money and Fordham is a school at the top my list. I have an associates degree from a community college in New York, graduated with a 3.7, was on the executive board of the student government, great recommendations from professors and plenty more recommendations from both my school and community.
I want to apply to the CAS as a Politics major and I also would be a commuter.
So do I have a chance for admission as a transfer student this spring?

Any advice is greatly appreciated and would being a commuter hurt or help my chance for admission?

bump…

I don’t know about the transfer process to Fordham, but it certainly seems worth applying. I think that being a commuter is a positive because on campus housing is limited. Good luck.

thanks happy1, I have heard housing is very tight on campus and that being a commuter could work in my favor…I have even heard commuters automatically get a $6000 scholarship to cover gas/tolls/ etc

Transfer, as a current commuter (on waitlist), it will definitely help that you would be a commuter. And yes, commuters get a $6000 metro scholarship a year. You sound like you would be able to get in! At this point, being a commuter is considered a great thing for admissions as the waitlist is pretty full.

So am planning to apply for next Fall 2012 as a Transfer from Hofstra University . I am a Bronx native and I plan to commute. So when I apply and I said I don’t want housing and am commuting, that gives me a upper hand against a person who needs housing?
