I’m considering transferring to Fordham University from a small LAC for the spring semester (Too many reasons to maintain but basically I went to the best college I got into, not necessarily the best fit.) Anyway, it’s been a few months and I’m not miserable but Fordham just feels much more like home (I visited my friends the past two weekends and I live an hour away). Anyway I was just wondering if it was possible to transfer into Fordham for spring semester of my freshman year? Also, could I apply for the commuter scholarship?
Note - I got into Fordham with on campus housing (I’ve heard thats important) and a $10,000 scholarship when I first applied but denied it to attend a more prestigious institute.
I’m not sure you’ve given your current college a fair chance, but if you want to transfer, I’d just contact admissions to find out definitively what the story is, what the deadlines would be etc… It is unlikely you will get that same scholarship as a transfer student, but once again, you can ask admissions.
I would give it a shot.
Just to note: with the commuter money, it’s a grant, not a scholarship. You get it automatically if you apply as a commuter. It’s a $6,000 grant for the full year.
@Reader13 Do you know how far away I have to live to have the commuter scholarship?
@Reader13 And if I have to live with my parents?
Here, this explains the qualifications. as far as I know, you don’t have to live with your parents. I would call financial aide to check though.
