Just letting everyone know SPS Decisions are up! Waitlisted :)

:( how likely is it to come off the waitlist?

Well I don’t think it’s super likely since St.Paul’s has a high yield, but its not impossible.

Rejected :(

Sorry to hear that, Px
Wishing you the best in your other decisions!

Thanks man. You know when you break up with someone you say “He was a jerk anyway”, I feel like I’m saying that about SPS now. “I didn’t like it anyway” in some poor attempt to feel better.

PxAlaska you were vying for spots that were more competitive than mine so you shouldn’t feel discouraged! I wish you the best with your other schools!

@PxAlaska, throughout this process you’ve been one of the most mature, happy and articulate high schoolers I know. Don’t let this bring you down. So what if there weren’t enough spots for eleventh? You know your extremely qualified. It’s their loss. Besides, I sense good news coming :)

Pancakes for everyone!

PxAlaska - If it makes you feel any better, I was rejected from SPS 35 years ago and my life has turned out just fine :)

@Ironmom1, Moms psychologically tend to feel fulfilled more often than others I’ll be okay and even if I’m rejected from every school, I’ll still be fine. Are you here for your son/daughter?

waitlisted It’s okay though, I still have Andover and Deerfield to come!

@PxAlaska - I was just about to go make myself a large platter of pancakes (breaking my veganism) as a reward for all my hard work. I’m going away for spring break in a week, so I should be being all healthy, but I love food and YOLO.

For my son (who didn’t apply to SPS). I have my fingers crossed for him - and for all of you.

My son was waitlisted

@Ironmom1

I hope for the best for your son!

@PxAlaska

I am sure you will hear good news from others. If they didn’t choose people like you, it’s their problem.

I’, not sure how but I got rejected at Loomis, but waitlisted at a much better school: St. Paul’s. Care to explain?

Rejected. Having a tough morning, rejected at Choate, Loomis, and Taft as well.

@dennroo are you a finaid applicant? Do you go to a school that has a secondary school counselor? Did you use common app or write separate applications?

@aceinthewhole

I needed full financial aid and I do have a secondary school council. It was seperate. I think that my St. Paul’s expressed me the best way possible and I am happy for my decision having gone through 6 rejections last year.

I can assume that it came down to fin aid and interest. Loomis probably didn’t rank very high on your list and they knew it. While you may not be a shoo in for SPS you showed them something they liked. AO jobs are lost by yield %, so if Loomis takes a lot of kids that end up matriculating to HADES schools they will be looking for a new Director of Admissions every other year. I hope this helps and don’t take it personal. It’s a #'s thing.
