SPUR/URAP research

i don't have the greatest grades (in fact they are probably at the lower end of the totem pole). Is getting into SPUR/URAP hard? has anyone had success in these areas of research?? My major is molecular toxicology, by the way.

from what i hear, getting URAP positions in the biosciences is alot tougher, in general with the competition from all the premeds. if youre really interested in a particular prof’s research, you could try for that one and for the other 2 choices pick positions you can think of as (relative) “safeties”. also, it probably depends on your class level and other job/internship experience, so unless you are on acad probation-which would automatically disqualify you from applying anyhow, your GPA shouldnt completely matter.

Thanks for your reply. anyone else have experiences with SPUR?
