My son is filling out his Rutgers SRAR and he has a question. How does he tell if a class is college prep, academic, standard, etc.? We know when it's honors, but the others are confusing. Help??

I would have him ask his guidance counselor. In my sons’ school, it was obvious. For ex, Academic English., Honors English, and AP English. I think we may have selected mandatory classes such as PE and Drama as ‘standard’. (drama was mandatory in that it was an ‘arts’ class which was necessary for graduation)

You can fill it out now and if you get a different answer from the GC it is easy enough to update/change. Just don’t submit his app until he is happy with the 'fina’l version.

You can view a preview of the SRAR here:

If you go to page 15 and scroll down to “Current Coursework Entered for This School” you can see what a general SRAR application looks like and there may be some courses on there you can use as a point of reference to determine which category your son’s courses fall into. If you are unsure as to which category they belong, you can always select the “type” as being “regular.”

Hope this helps!
