SSA scholarship money is posted on OneStart.

Congrats to bigbooklover! That’s an awesome acknowledgement of your hard work in hs. You could receive more from the school you applied to as well.

Kelley has not awarded their privately funded scholarships yet. They notify direct admits of any awards by April 1.

Do the Kelley scholarships happen from the SSA? My son filled out the SSA, but I don’t know what he was being considered for. I’m assuming he got nothing from Hutton! because his amount has not been increased? congrats to those who will be getting additional merit money.

1214mom, I don’t think all Kelley scholarships come from the ssa, just some of the big ones. The website says all direct admits are considered for additional funding, so just because your son did not get a Hutton award, he still may get a Kelley award. I think Kelley has a much bigger pool of privately funded awards.

Thanks. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Yesterday (2/28), I checked my OneStart account and it still said only $11,000 (automatic scholarship). This morning (3/1), I checked my OneStart account and my “Account Inquiry” link disappeared and I can’t find anything. Is this a sign that I might be getting more merit aid?

My DD’s account with Scholarship info. is “gone”, I’m guessing they took it down until letters go out?

My son’s account has the same thing. Hopefully it’s good news.
As a side note, I thought I just posted a very similar note recently, but it never showed up…weird

Do you have to have accepted to view awards? Mine says “no self service.”

No you don’t have to accept before you see awards, but the university seems to have taken that information away from one start for now. We are guessing they are updating award amounts and you will be able to see the award amounts when they are ready.

Hutton Honors sent out scholarship notices on Saturday, so we should be receiving them soon.

bigbooklover Do you mind sharing your stats? I am trying to figure out what type of oos merit monies IU is awarding. My daughter isn’t a senior this year so I know it can change annually but trying to get a basic idea. Also, are you a direct admit to your school?

4.3 GPA 32 ACT varsity athlete, tons of leadership positions, student government, peer counseling, community service, great letters of rec. Think my ACT score hurt me for the Wells and other major scholarships at other schools

Thanks! Sounds impressive! Best of luck to you.

According to someone at IU, not many OOS Kelley students receive much merit money as freshmen. She said only about 2% of OOS students get merit through Kelley, and it’s usually a pretty small amount. It was just one conversation, but figured I’d pass along what I heard.

Just got letter in mail from Honors College with additional scholarship info

Did it give you any more $ or was it just confirming what you received on your account. Could you break down where the money came from? I’m guessing $11,000 oos, then $6,000 for the Honors College (I think both of those are their max awards). Thanks!

Oh one more thing, are both of the above awards renewable for the four years?

Both are renewable for 4 yrs…Deans Scholarship $11,000/yr and AR Metz Scholarship $8,000/yr
