Selective scholarships/Hutton Honors

My D is a direct admit to Kelley and Hutton Honors. Completed the selective scholarship application and has not heard anything. Does that mean she has not been selected for a scholarship? The money makes a difference in her decision… Has anyone heard about the Hutton Honors scholarship? Or any other SSA scholarships not related directly to Kelley?

I’m pretty sure that Hutton will send a letter saying that you didn’t get a scholarship if you don’t get one. I was in the same situation last year and I think they sent me one

Iubaccounting, did you get the 11k initially from IU? Did you receive any additional monies pursuant to your SSA application? I thought the essay written was pretty good, and I would think she would get more $$ as her stats are way above the direct admit numbers.

I’m in state, but I got the $8k scholarship which is equivalent. I had a 4.4 W, 3.9 UW, 34 ACT, 1440 superscored M+CR SAT and got nothing else. I honestly believe that if I was not white, I would have a Fry scholarship though which is a full ride. I know several people with stats worse than mine who have it but are not white

Any additional factors, i.e. gender, major (STEM vs Humanities), instate vs OOS, NMSF/NMF, EC’s… I would not expect there’s a secret sauce that the Hutton committee uses on their decision, but are there any obvious considerations we nervous parents have missed  ??

My D is direct admit to School of Informatics and received 2 selective scholarships last week. One was a direct admit scholarship and the other was was Corky Richmond. We are OOS. She received $10k when she was first admitted in September

I too am DA to Kelly and Hutton and have heard nada on any additional monies beyond the 11K per year already offered. Was told direct by Kelly they hoped to have all $$ notices done by April 1. In different post it was mentioned that in years past mid March was about when everyone was notified. The question I forgot to ask when I called was if I’d be informed if I rec’d nothing additional. Weighing several different schools and in the end it will come down to cost.

@iubaccounting Agreed, as an under-represented direct admit with financial need you likely would have received the Fry scholarship. Increasing enrollment of under-represented minorities in Kelley is the reason William R. Fry (1958 IU grad) funded it.

My son is a direct admit to Hutton and the School of Global and Int’l Studies. He was given the 11K/year Dean’s Scholarship, but has not heard anything since submitting his SSA. However, he did receive a 3K/year global studies scholarship BEFORE he filled out his SSA. We’re not sure if they just gave him that particular selective scholarship without the application or if it’s something seperate???

Got 6k a year!!!

Are the results out for SSA’s?

An additional 6k a year Hutton Honors scholarship! Wow!

Anyone know what the max Hutton honors scholarship is? Anyone know what out of state scholarships are awarded for direct admits to Kelley? Just wondering?

I think the maximum IU scholarship initially( not the special scholarships) is 11k. I think the maximum Hutton is either 6k or 8k. I think most direct admit Kelley scholarships go to either URM or in state applicants… I could be wrong however…

Got additional an Hutton Honors scholarship today! Making IU a viable option.

by email or mail?

DS got letter in mail today telling him about his additional Hutton Honors scholarship money.

Letter in the mail - like the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes

Congrats!

What scholarship did you guys get? I know there were som Metz scholarships given for 8k but I think you had to have your SsA application in by 12/1 and need to do the FAFSA . Happy with the 6k she got… Does this mean that there will be no additional $$ from Kelley. I don’t want to be greedy, just want to know whether all the $$ she will get has been received. Comparing scholarships with other schools…

Call Kelly and ask. I did and didn’t learn much. Maybe you’ll get more.
