SSAT median score

Based on this year's information:
Deerfield Academy's median score is 88th
SPS' median is 83th

Did you get that directly from the schools? Boardingschoolreview is often unrealiable.

I know, Boardingschoolreview.com is very unreliable. It said that one of the schools I was applying to offered skiing as a sport. I got so excited about this. Then, I checked out the school's website to find out more information about their skiining, but I found to my chagrin that they did not offer skiing.

Someone from Taft told me the average was 82% and they said it was straight from the Director of Admissions.

And Andover has an 92% AVERAGE.
I got them directly from school.

83 for SPS seems lower (a lot) than it was when my older son applied (1999). Does anyone know if it has dropped....or if they are considering this score less when accepting students?

I'm so glad all the averages are going down haha. I think last year SPS was 88% and Andover was 96%.

Wow, 96%? That's high!

Jonathan
SPS' 83% is the median score this year, not average.

On BSR, it does state that SPS average score is an 81% (supposedly updated for this year).

Sorry, that's what I meant.

Even though I do attend St. Paul's I feel as though that median score is very low. As stated above boarding school review is very unreliable, and cannot be taken seriously. Who knows maybe a finger slipped and a 91 turned to an 81.

the SPS figure sounds correct to me -- we attended a ten schools meeting and that was one of the questions asked -- SPS average SSAT score and the emphasis they place on it. They said that because they really look at a student holistically, they tend to have lower ssat scores than some other schools. They look for potential as well as achievement -- and they must be good at it, because the college placement is excellent.

That is good to know (not that I have anyone left to go to bs), but I like the fact that they have de-emphasized the SSAT score. There are many, many exceptionally bright children who do not necessarily get 90+ scores but are every bit the scholar that their higher-scoring counterparts are.

What are Hotchkiss' and Groton's average?

i love how everybodys good at something some ppl are great at
math some are awful at history some are good at languages but arent artistic
thats why we are all unique

I was looking at schools on BSR and it did not say median SSAT score, it said average SSAT score. Where is the word median coming from?

anyone know hill and loomi's average score?

Hill - 72%
Loomis - 78%

Those sounds pretty accurate but it's from BSR..

bsr said loomis acceptance rate was 38 and then at petersons it says 43 so im confused lol
its kind of unreliabl
