ssat scores

I would have her retest, a 34% in math is not going to help her. But it would not ruin her chances either, she seems great in everything else!

Which Airport/s is nearest to

Chattanooga, Nashville and Huntsville all have commercial airports.

Nashville is a Southwest Airlines hub.

Atlanta has many direct international flights.

Groome Transportation (800-896-9928) offers convenient transportation between nearby Monteagle and the Nashville and Atlanta airports with ten runs each day.

SAS can provide transportation from Monetagle to our campus.

Sewanee also maintains its own airport for smaller planes.

Directions
(To use an on-line mapping service, use the destination "290 Quintard Rd., Sewanee, TN, 37375.)

From Nashville take I-24 East, from Chattanooga take I-24 West. We are a 1½-hour drive from Nashville and are in the same time zone (Central).

We are a 1-hour drive from Chattanooga, but are in a different time zone (Chattanooga is on Eastern Time – if you leave Chattanooga at 9 EST, you will arrive at SAS at 9 a.m. CST)

Whether coming from Nashville or Chattanooga, you can tell that you are getting close as you ascend the Mountain.

On top of the Mountain, take Exit 134 (Sewanee/Monteagle Exit). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto 41A and travel approximately 3 miles.
You will come to the yellow blinking caution light at our front entrance.
Turn right.
The first building on the right is the Chapel.
The second building is Langford Hall, home to the Administrative Offices, including the Admissions Office which is on the second floor.
The visitors' parking area is just beyond Langford. College representatives should continue along the drive to the large parking area adjacent to Bishop Bratton Hall.

Glad you found it. If you think it would have made more sense to have it listed on another page, let me know. I'm always looking for ways to make our website more logical.

Hope this means we'll be seeing you on campus, drmaQueen. I'm in China for the year so I won't be able to greet you personally but I hope you enjoy your visit!

the directions to your school was placed just fine I just needed to look for them.

I did check out St Andrews sewan. website looks like a great school.

I just wish I had started this process looking at BS in Aug/06 min

instead of Aug/07.

My list finally was Asheville, St Andrews DE and Stony Brook.

drama queen,
I remember those schools having good equestrian programs. Does your daughter by any chance ride?

Drmaqueen. My son attends an inner city public school and like your daughter he is also taking geometry in 8th grade - the class size is 7( of which 4 are african american girls). My son scored ssat 74% and his school
advised us that they were good enough. Your daughter's score is good enough based on her demographic and she has a hook (URM). We too are applying to St Andrews DE- great school, small, nurturing environment.

drmaQueen, she definitely doesn't have to retest, I believe.

I live in india and on my report of ssat it says that my percentiles are:
Verbal:74%, International:93%
Math:50%, Internationa: 94%
Reading: 35%, International: 85%

are these possible and are they good????

arjun,
I think it really depends what schools you are applying too.

No, arjun, they aren't AEDSCH (Andover, Exeter, Deefield, St. Paul's, Choate, Hotchkiss) material - but, you are from India (URM), and if you have very strong grades, play a few sports VERY well, hold excellent interviews and write superb essays, have amazing recommendations than you might have a chance.

Basically, what I'm saying is that your scores aren't good (verbal is okay, reading is very low), but if the rest of you is extremely unique and VERY strong, than you may have a chance!

Or, if you're applying to less competitive schools with high acceptance rates, than I think those scores are acceptable.

arjun: I live in a non-English-speaking country too and we only get one percentile for each section. We don't have an "international percentile". I wonder what's wrong...

wait, its national percentile, not international.
Also my scores are:
Verbal- 710
Math- 716
Reading- 632
thats a total of 2058. is it still tht bad??

arjun and the person who started this thread,

retest retest retest. study study study!!
