Hi! Do the schools know if you have been superscoring? Does not superscoring increase your chances?
I only took the SSATs once and got a pretty decent score (89% verbal, 99% math, 99% reading → 98% in total). I could’ve taken it again to get a better verbal score but didn’t… would that help me or hurt me since there are probably people who have higher scores than I do (by superscoring?)…
My understanding is that you cannot superscore your SSAT. You can send in results from one test or all, but schools get all results from each date you send. You have an excellent score, so I wouldn’t worry about your testing. Hopefully, you followed it with a strong application–of which the the SSAT is just a small part. Nevertheless, the horse has left the gate and all you can do is wait at this point. GOOD LUCK!!!
From what I know, you cannot actually have the SSAT organization send in your best scores from each category, you must send in all of your scores, but, depending on the school, they could take the best scores from each category and super score your SSAT test scores, but they could possibly not, but not all schools super score. At those schools, they will probably just take the scores from the test that you scored the highest overall in and use those to compare to the rest of the applicants.
It’s probably too late to ask now, but you could have emailed the schools and asked each individually if they super scored or not, and used that to determine which to send in, but since you only took it once, you can stop worrying about not taking it multiple times to be able to super score your SSAT scores, what has been done has been done, and all you can really do at this point is wait. Only about 16 more days to go…
