Just got in for IR yesterday. Good luck to everyone!
Congrats, @PreppyKiid! are you accepting your offer?
Not sure… maybe after Regular decision comes out
Congrats! Btw, when did you submit your application? I did it on Nov 18 but I didn’t hear back since then.
Thanks! I also submitted around Nov 16th/17th… it depends on which application system you used. I presume it is actually a lot slower for those who used common app compared to UCAS applicants.
Thanks for your reply, I applied via UCAS too for economics and philosophy, hopefully I’ll hear back from them soon perhaps, can’t predict it lol. Keep my fingers crossed.
Good luck!

Just got in for Art History! I applied late October (and I didn’t submit any test score). Good luck to everyone!
Do not worry. The IR Faculty is notorious with responses. Rooting for you
Excited to share that as of today, my daughter received acceptances to all her UK schools including an unconditional offer to St. Andrews!
Very appreciative of the support and thoughts of this group - as you might see above, she was very anxious as she had NO standardized test scores to present due to the cancellations last year and the discontinuation of the SAT IIs as of this month. So grateful for the consideration of the other elements of her application. Sharing to give hope to any still waiting to hear, especially those who also faced similar challenges through the pandemic.
Well done everyone!
@UCASQuestions, your daughter won’t be alone in her lack of scores this year.
Congrats all (& esp @UCASQuestions!)
Is anybody not planning to accept their offer?!
Waiting for Edinburgh… then Tough choices to make
@njmum77, what all are in the mix?
My son applied late to St. Andrews (Dec 31, 2020) for financial economics and management. Has anybody applied to these programs? Wondering the difficulty of getting into these? He’s an American student who applied through the common app; excellent SATs (1550; 780 math, 770 verbal) on his only attempt, but due to the pandemic he didn’t take any subject tests. His GPA is a bit of a Achilles heal, 3.50 unweighted, but he did take the hardest High School schedule he could; a lot of honors/AP classes. He’s young (just turned 17) and his grades weren’t good Freshman year but are close to a 4.0 Junior and Senior year. ECs are very good though I’m not sure St. Andrews looks at these all that much. A little worried for him, do you think with his SATs his chances are good? St. Andrews requested a PDF printout of his SAT scores, shortly after he applied, which may be a good sign? From the website it looks like St, Andrews wants a 1320+ on SATs (which he’s well above and A’s and B’s in honors classes (he has), or multiple Aps of 4+ (he doesn’t have) or 2 subject tests of 650+ (he didn’t take subject tests due to the pandemic). He was accepted into Trinity (Dublin) about a week after applying, which is nice as he really likes Trinity too. We’ve talked to the North East USA Recruiter, Thomas, a few times, so he knows my son. Thanks.
St Andrews, Trinity Dublin, Northeastern and Edinburgh.
GPA isn’t considered at all in the UK. Did he apply via UCAS or Common App? It depends also on his AP scores. What does he have for those?
