Is there a certain time of day that they tend to release their decisions?
I don’t know if anyone checked the portal application check thing enough to notice this, but my status changed from pending application to checking application today. Does anyone have any experience with how long after they got a decision back??
Mine just changed as well today! Crossing my fingers we hear back soon. @tuneforever
I know I hope so too! This wait is killing me I’ve been checking the portal like every 20 min. I really hope the decisions come before the 15th so it curbs the disappointment if I get deferred from Georgetown. @cfanderson
@tuneforever Good luck at Georgetown, too!! I’m hoping St. Andrews is this tomorrow or next week
So are they going to email us or tell us on the portal?
I’m pretty sure they email you the decision; the portal I think is just to check the status, or if you need to send them anything etc. @BEWilliams
if you applied via ucas you will get an email from them saying that one of your schools updated your status. You will get an email with the offer straight from the university as well, but our experience was that the ucas email was the first one.
I applied to (MA) IR with Arabic and Spanish and my application status changed as well
@tuneforever applied to IR and Econ and also had my status changed from Pending Decision to Checking Application.
I wonder how much longer we’ll have to wait, the suspense is killing me.
D applied in late Sept. to Modern Languages and IR. Unconditional offer in mid-late November. ACT 34. Weighted
GPA 4.8 and AP scores all 4 (euro and macro) and 5’s (AB Calc, US Hist, English Comp and Micro). Awaiting ED decision from another school.
I got the same update on my application portal what does that mean?
Just got unconditional offer for french & art history with a year abroad!! Applied November 15!
Congrats!! @beyondohs
Hi!! I’m new to the thread and I’ve been accepted for my MA (Honours) for Art History. I was just wondering if you guys know when our 2022 FB page would be started so we can start looking for roommates!!
@emilymales was wondering the same thing! Also MA hons for art history (& french)
You don’t get to choose roommates.
You fill out your housing app with the following in your preference order:
Self Catered Single
Catered Single
Self Catered shared
Catered shared
Single sex floor/hall ok yes/no
And a (very few) questions about personality/living style
Then you get your offer of a hall and room, and you accept or reject it.
If you want to know who your roommate is, best way is to join the 2018-2019 FB group for the hall you are assigned to and post your room number and hope your future roommate sees it.
My daughter learned her roommate’s name the day she moved in.
Congrats @emilymates.
Suggest you do a little more homework on how housing works- it is pretty different than the US.
@collegemom3717 yeah i know how different it is and have looked into how they do accomodation. I have heard however from current students at St As that you could request people - if not for your immediate roommate but at least on your floor so i was just wondering
