St Joe's or Loyola Chicago?

Have been accepted to both with a little more scholarship $ at Loyola. Which is a better school?

I’m a senior in high school this year, who lives in Chicago. I also applied to St. Joe’s but am still undecided where I’m gonna go. Where are you from, because although they’re both in large cities St. Joe’s really seems like its in a suburb more so than in a city. While, Loyola is “in” the city, its not downtown but Chicago’s pretty big so even if you’re not in the Loop it does a little hectic. Its also right on the lake, which is pretty cool. So early first semester and maybe towards the end of second semester if you’re lucky you can go to the beach.

St. Joe’s definitely has more school spirit and more parties. But Chicago has more to do when you’re not drinking. Loyola from what some of my friends have told is much more of a club/bar school than a house party school. While SJU is more balanced.

Academically St Joe’s is a little better in my opinion. I’ve attended freshman classes at both and the one at St. Joe’s was more challenging. It was a very small sample size though, so its pretty hard to judge. All in all though they’re very similar schools.

The main question I’d ask is whether you want Chicago or Philadelphia? Chicago is massive with a lot to do. And Philly is big with almost just as much to do; I say go to SJU.
And I probably went on way to long but I’m sick on a Friday night, what else is there to do.

*too, sorry about that.

Thanks for the long reply - it is good to know. I am from upstate NY and like both Chicago and Philly. I went to the Loyola accepted students day last weekend and really liked it. I am headed to St. Joe’s this weekend. It will be interesting to compare.
