St. Lawrence University vs. Binghamton University, SUNY

I have been accepted by those two schools, and I plan to choose from either one of them. I will major Business in college. I think St. Lawrence University has better academic reputation, but Binghamton is much more well known. Another thing bothers me is Binghamton U located in urban area; St. Lawrence U located in middle of nowhere… It’s really hard to pick one from those two schools because they are all my favorite. Can anyone give me some advises?

Strictly speaking, St Lawrence is in the middle of nowhere but really close to Montreal, so if you speak French and can envision an international career, it’d be a great location. Its classes will be small and interactive. It’s quite preppy.
Binghamton is larger and academically rigorous but will have a broader variety of students from the state, being a public university, while the learning “comfort” will be less.
How much would each cost if you calculate (tuition, fees, room, board) - (scholarships, grants)?
What’s your parents budget, can they pay each amount “out of pocket”? Would you have to take loans (how much)?

Outside NY State the two schools are about as well known. I doubt you’d see much of a difference. People who know about colleges will know both schools but those who don’t won’t know either one. For Binghamton you would have to say “It’s a SUNY”. The two schools are very different though. What about each do you like/dislike? One is a small liberal arts private college with a common first year experience that serves to define/bond the students. The other is a typical NY State middle sized public university. Does financial considerations factor in at all? These two schools are about as different from each other as possible, except that they are both located in upstate NY.

Thank you so much for answering! Affording both schools’ tuition will not be a problem for my parents, although I got 60,000 scholarships from St. Lawrence University.

If cost is not a concern, then “fit”: have you done an overnight, or at least visited?
They’re both very different.
