st louis curious

so.. if anyone was so kind to name me the pros/cons about st louis... id gladly appreciate it :)
(its just so hard to decide which college!)
thanks in advance! :)

Forest Park and all it has to offer!

LOL... but would you rate it on par with any other TOP schools eg YTale, MIT, CalTech???

I don't know why you're laughing at seekingknowledge, he/she gave you a positive aspect of st. louis, which is what you asked for... If you're wondering about WashU's prestige you can look at the US News College Rankings. WashU is tied for 12th with Cornell. Some similar or overlap schools of WashU include Northwestern, Rice, and Emory. WashU gets its fair share of HYP caliber students as well.

Michael92, for a pro/con discussion look at the thread started on 12/14 by gnoodle.

Michael92,

He was referring to a literal park called Forest Park. it is bigger than Central Park and literally adjacent to campus. It has free museums and a zoo, it also has golf courses, biking, walking trails, ball fields, a restaurant, and much more. It is amazing.

Within walking distance is a pretty good bar/restaurant area called The Loop. http://www.ucityloop.com/ This area, like all nightlife areas, is not as safe as the campus, but I never sensed a problem there.

There is a train that runs to the airport and to the city. It (and the bus system) are free to students. Service may be cut due to funding problems.

Clayton is a nearby city (and on the train) that has good restaurants downtown, though these are a little pricey for students.

Another area nearby (not walkable) is called The Hill. The Hill, St. Louis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It is an historical italian neighborhood from where many famous people have come.

Downtown has much to offer, though some neighborhoods should be avoided. There are the usual museums and so forth, but the Arch and the museum underneath is interesting once or twice. The park along the river at the arch is also nice and accessible by train.

Blues and Jazz clubs are everywhere.

More if I think of it.

Wow, that third post was a total non sequitur in the thread.
