<p>Is there anyway that money that I borrow through either of the Stafford loans could be given to me as a check. I am living off campus this year and was not planning on getting a meal plan, and if possible, use the money I borrow through loans for groceries. Is this possible? Thanks</p>
<p>At my D's school, after the money for the loan comes in, if it is over the cost of what they billed you (tuition, fees in your case), they either let you apply it towards the next semester or get a check for the difference. You should call your school FA office and find out how far into the semester that is done so you have enough to live off until then.</p>
