I am a little bit confused. Indeed, I thought Columbia University required the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT, two Subject Tests and the TOEFL for international applicants to College. On the Collegeboard's website, there's a new application called the " Academic Tracker " according to which I just need to take the ACT or the SAT + the Subject SATs ( + TOEFL of course ). This is not really mentioned on Columbia's website or I guess I'm not able to find this information there. Can anyone help me ?

I did but I won't have my answer before Monday which happens to be the registration deadline for October SAT ! As I am applying ED, I must take the subject tests in October ...

mourad - take a look at the information given to prospective international students by Columbia College on its website;

Application Requirements:

* The completed Application for Admission (two documents, one of which includes a personal statement)
* The $70 application fee (or fee waiver from a school official)
* The completed Secondary School Report
* An official high school transcript (from all schools attended)
* The completed Mid-Year School Report
* SAT or ACT scores, two SAT Subject Test scores (and English proficiency examination score if necessary)
* Two letters of recommendation from teachers

Mourad - good luck to you. With the deadline for October fast approaching, I hope you have figured out if you need to register for the two subject tests you will need for your application to Columbia. Since I do not know exactly what was so confusing about the CB academic tracker information, all that is really important to keep track of is that as far as the subject testing goes, for Columbia College any two subject tests will do but for Columbia Engineering, you must take any mathematics test and either Physics or Chemistry. Just keep in mind, that for ED all the standardized testing must be completed by the November test date and your scores have to be reported directly to Columbia by the CB. Also, the admissions folks at Columbia admonish all applicants not to utilize the “rush” service.

Also, if you have a 650 on the Critical Reasoning/Verbal section of the SAT, you are exempt from taking an English proficiency examination.

I'm taking the Subjects in october ( french / spanish / math Ic ). I'll take the ACT because I believe this test is fairer for international students, especially those of whom English is not the first language. Finally, I'll take the SAT Reasoning in November hoping that I'll increase my CR score from 590 to 660 at least ^^.
Thanks asteriskea for your help ;-)
