Standby testing?

Could someone tell me how that works? I want to take the November SAT because it's imperative that I do, but, as well all know, the deadline has passed.

I think I could take it doing standby testing but I am not quite sure how it works.

Thanks.

My daughter did standby for the October test. She went to the testing center about 40 minutes early and brought a blank check. She filled out a registration form there and filled out the check (it was $80.) She just waited until the regular registration was over and then they let the standby's in. She said everyone that was waiting got in. She got her scores Thursday minus the essay and score report which is supposed to be online on November 2nd. Except for the $80 part it was painless and easy.
Good Luck!

Thank you!

I already registered for the November test, but we have to go out of town that weekend and I still want to try to test there. I called CB and the woman said it was too late to change the testing center, but I could go in as a standby to the other testing center. I've already paid..would I have to pay again? Or would my admission ticket suffice? Or would there just be an extra fee?

Also, how likely is it that a testing center would have room?

why was it $80.. is it $80 for standby?

It was $43 for the test and a $37 fee for standby. Here is the link for standby testing: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/testday/standby.html
