Dammit so close. But yeah anyway mfederman, you’re so right, my whole actiity essay was about volunteering with kids.

i would join Circle K (college version of Key Club!) def
im planning on joining the Basmati Raas dance team (if i make it)

About the howling thing- yes, Stanford has a tradition like that, if I’m thinking of the right one. To quote wikipedia (great source, I know):
“Dead week” is a term for the week before final exams.

Also, I’m making the official decisions thread tomorrow, so I want some opinions on how you guys want it before I go ahead.
First, I’m still open to last-minute suggestions on the format: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/800082-stanford-2014-sceaers-69.html#post1063589574

And, also, I’d like to know how you guys would prefer the title.
I supposed it’d make sense to just follow the format of the thread already stickied and use “OFFICIAL Stanford University REA Decisions - Class of 2014,” but I’m fine with any suggestions you guys would like.
I’m using REA instead of SCEA because, surprisingly, I noticed that Stanford’s early action actually is REA, not SCEA. I looked it up when NJDS pointed it out in the other decisions thread, and he was right.

REA sounds so ugly. Is it just me? I prefer SCEA.

But either way, anything is fine with me, Prussia!

:)

Either would do.

Oh, and do not forget to create the discussions thread…

I also prefer the sound of SCEA; but, I feel that, as the official Stanford forum, we really should get the name of their program right, hahaha.

Yup, good ol’ discussion thread, I know. I had asked before if someone else would like to make it, but there doesn’t seem to be any takers. So, I guess I’ll make it myself, right before the decisions thread.

Hello all!

I just got an account at CC, though I’ve been lurking around for awhile now…in the shadows. Hehe. I finally decided to sign up, seeing as I need a distraction until 12/15. (But I think this will only make me even more anxious…oh well. xP)

So yeah. Hi. :)

SCEA does sound better but i do think we should get it right.

yea actually i think a lot of us are getting more nervous
although the nervousness has not sunk in at all
like at all
its kinda scary how un-nervous i am

@prussia

for the discussion thread i guess you can just open a thread with no particular topics

I’ve been trying to hide my nervousness for the past week or so. My attempts are working…sort of.

I want to look into the whole Abbott conspiracy more, I’m curious. And coming up with an official phrase for our REA anxiety.

Ahh! NJDS, Circle K for the win!

I think that the internship opportunities would be incredible!

I’m definitely feeling the bipolar Stanford Syndrome or whatever we’re going to call it. I got super nervous last night but I feel ok right now. It’s crazy.

To go back to what everyone was talking about before I jumped in…

I would definitely do some kind of dance. I might continue with ballet. Or try ballroom. Or swing. Or maybe contemporary/modern. I’ll have to see…

EDIT: I also have that bipolar Stanford syndrome, haha.

I’d take ballroom dancing because I’ve heard it’s so much fun. That or swing. Maybe hip-hop.
I’ve accepted the fact that whatever happens, happens.
and I’m still working on that song.

I think we need a legit name for the syndrome. Where would you guys attempt to get an internship if you went to Stanford? I would try to work at intel

Ballroom dancing is fun! It makes you feel classy. haha

Lol, I’ve always wanted to try ballroom after watching all those dancing shows on TV. And my friend took me swing dancing once…it was really fun!

But hip-hop is, well, definitely out of my comfort zone. I did dance at school for two years and we had to do hip-hop dances for football/basketball games…let’s just say they put me in the back row. xD

I’ve never really thought about an internship before. I think I have to figure out what I want to do first. :P
