no one at my school applied early for Ivys. I am the only one who applied REA to Stanford. A bunch of people applied to Georgetown though.
I am on the negative side of Stanford syndrome right now :(

And yes NJDS I deleted my post because I’m just that nice :)

Is anyone else still not really able to use CC? It’s finally working (it hasn’t been for a few hours but I only checked once or twice), but it’s taking 3-6 minutes to load each page.

wow this thread proliferates faster than the fungus on my great grandma’s toe! (JK I don’t have a great grandma). Wow you guys even have the time down…I think I’ve conditioned myself to handle bad news if it happens, but we’ll know for sure when the decision comes…hopefully it’s be good news and I’ll never have to know!

You know I’m just kidding, Prussia! :)

I’M HERE!!! 4 days, 10 hours, 5 minutes and 41 seconds until December 15.

it hasn’t worked for me in a few hours too T____T

applicannot: I’m having that problem… takes forever!!

me too! Does anyone know how many people usually get deferred from REA?

this is a sad day for me. i should have applied EA to Stanford, not Duke. I dont understand why I got denied.
top of my class, 2400 SAT scores, and yet denied
whats even the salt to the injury is that people from my school who are not even in the top 10 got into Duke.

I guess I will applying to Stanford for Regular Admissions… Go stanford

@mfederman- Usually not that many. Stanford tries to make as many of their early decisions as possible final.

Very few people get deferred … Stanford prefers to either deny or accept. But if they really really feel that you are borderline they will defer you.

Neonseri, I’m sorry to hear that, that really is a bummer. Well look on the bright side, maybe you’ll get accepted into Stanford regular admissions and then Duke will feel so silly! lol. But don’t worry too much about it, these top colleges get so many students who are amazing in so many different ways, that the decisions can truly be quite unpredictable.

I’m sure you’ll make it somewhere!

I’ve been having the same problem with the website - it wasn’t even working until just a moment ago. I thought maybe it was overloaded by Duke ED people who just got their results?

YOU’RE KIDDING, I was expecting Stanford to defer a lot of people, just because those who are rejected can’t reapply. That kills my mood, I was really counting on being deferred rather than rejected, so I could send them my second semester grades. Man, that stinks.

i was hoping for more deferring too

mfederman im gonna join u on the negative side today

lol then you guys should’ve applied MIT for yoru EA since the majority of their EA gets get deferred.
MIT Early action
Applicants 3,493
Admitted 390
Deferred to regular action 2,638
Deferred applicants admitted during regular action 289

Stanford SCEA 689 5,363 12.85 738 4,551 16.22 750 4,644 16.15

wow that was confusing let me clarify: for class of 2013 5,363 applied and 689 were admitted

those are some scary statistics…
