im feeling this syndrome right about now.
i just want something to come, it sucks having to wait, even though all of this is kind of exciting.
but i mean, we will survive somehow no matter where we go.

i can see that our overall morale is pretty low today… come on guys! we all applied to stanford because we love the school! and even though we fight ourselves to figure if we believe we have a chance or not, the side that felt good about the chances won! it might be cliche and i definitely dont recommend using this in an essay, but lets believe in ourselves :)

Naruto: I never give up. If that blonde haired orphan who lives in a predominantly dark haired ninja society can rise up the ranks that so can we! Believe it!

Diivio, I needed to hear that
<3
I keep saying that to myself though
“at least we tried and have a definite answer. Worst thing they can say is ‘no’”

currently checking out the duke admissions thread
all I can say is
I chuckled when someone with Stanford in the username got accepted

Not if you get deferred!?!?! DUN DUN DUNNNN

lol JK. I’m sure that there is an adcom reading this thread, who has told the committee to accept everyone who posts regularly on it :)

if only that were true…Oh well, que sera sera, we just have to deal with it.

PS: this response was for sg12’s comment.

OH NOES I completely forgot about deferrals. Oh well…they have a definite answer come RD time?
They’re probably just relaxing, eating some popcorn or sipping some coffee and reading this thread. Snickering at our misery with the wait xD

Hahahha sg12, I almost want to start bombarding this thread with posts, on the off chance that you predicted right.

WOW THERE’S A WORD FOR IT? I seriously thought I was the only one who was that bipolar. Cool beans.

Wow, so many kids at my school are applying for ivies+stanford, it’s hard to believe that some of you have only one or two applicants from your school… then again, I’m well aware of the fact that my school is way too freaking competitive (not as in “my school is awesome,” more like “people at my school are out of their minds”) so I suppose that makes sense hahahah

lol diglett

i dont think they could be that evil? could they? haha
i mean would i be snickering at us? lol

this is the first year our high school has been loaded with a bunch of seniros applying to ivies/top schools. Why did all the smart high achieving kids have to be in my grade!?!?! lol.

If I were an admissions officer, I’d definitely get on these forums and laugh at the applicants’ misery… and probably turn some of the crazy essays into SNL skits haha

Oh so WashU in STL is also supposed to release ED decisions on the 15th but someone on their thread just said that he/she called WashU today and they said decisions will actually be released tomorrow at 5 pm central time… I don’t know if it’s just a rumor, but what if Stanford’s doing the same…

Haha I guess they’re not THAT evil xD
Meh. This is getting too nerve-racking
Gonna go make a christmas song playlist :3

IF any of you adcoms are out there and see this: I didn’t really mean my above post. Pretend it doesn’t even exist.

Argh… I’m glad other people share my sentiments about the 2010 senior year being irrationally competitive. I’m also glad I’m not the only bipolar in this forum.

Somebody call now!

…

It’s 8:30 at night, IPad.

I’d beware of calls and early notifications. It’s not that I’m doubting anyone, since I had my own insider information (friend at QuestBridge, though in a different division than the Match). But, from speaking with her, the word was that NO ONE knew when decisions would be released, that NO ONE had gotten a call from QB, etc. She didn’t even know half the information herself. So, while it could certainly be true, remember to be cautious.

could we sue for the rights of the skits? and write about the experiance in a transfer application cause we didint get in this year, and then get in? haha lol

i think our best bet is to wait for another 20 odd hours. there’s a teeny tiny possibility.

lol@wangatang
PLOT TWIST. One of us posting here is actually one of the admissions officers posing to be one of the EA applicants! eerie music plays
