I’m applying to Stanford which requires all SAT and ACT scores to be send. I’m taking my subject tests in October and I got a 1560 on the SAT, but I only got a 30 on the ACT with as low as a 26 in science (it was a really bad test day). I’ve taken the SAT twice with a 1510 and a 1560 but I only took the ACT once. I don’t have enough time before Stanford early application to take the ACT again. Should I try and delete the ACT score or would that violate Stanford’s rules? Or if they found out from say my transcript or some obscure place that I took the ACT and deleted the score, would that destroy my chances of admission? If I don’t delete the score will my chances be lowered for Stanford or any Ivy League school and by how much (yes I know Applications are reviewed holosticially but it no doubt lowers by chances by some amount)? Thank you for your help
@BobG4422 Don’t worry about your ACT score; your SAT score is great. My kid got 33 in ACT and 2150 in SAT, and he applied REA and got in. Be confident about your scores. But somehow with his scores, he managed to make National Merit Finalist in CA. I think his taking both ACT and SAT tests somehow helped him do better in his PSAT. My kid also submitted all his ACT (one) and SAT scores (two during sophomore year) because he was more concerned if he did not, he would be found out and be kicked out. No one cares about your 30 ACT scores because you clearly have shown you can get good test scores. Write great essays.
Also, the fact is you did get 30 in ACT and 1560 in SAT; thats you. Don’t try to hide the real you; if you get in or get denied, it was based on the real you. Present the real you.
By the way, my kid’s AP scores ranged from 5s to 3, and his SAT Subject scores ranged from 800 to 660. He’s ORM by the way.
