Stanford Admission Question

Hey guys, as we’re approaching the release of the decisions, I’m rereading my essays just to reflect and I’m freaking out. I wrote my “what’s meaningful to you” essay on my role as a big brother, and reading back I actually depict myself in a negative sense, as our relationship hasn’t been great, but it has improved as we’ve both grown older. I originally intended to communicate my growth and the importance of personal relationships, but it seems like I showed myself as someone who has petty arguments with their sister. How bad could this single essay affect my chances of admission? Thanks in advance.

People on CC, especially because they haven’t read your essay, aren’t in a position to answer you question. The essay is submitted. Put your essay away where it isn’t easily accessible. Relax. Your essay will be evaluated on writing skills rather than interactions with a little sister.

Actually its quite the opposite as they are trying to get a sense of who you are, however its already a done deal.

The essay is done. The application is submitted. You are done. Stop agonizing about it.
