<p>The Question:</p>
<p>So I'm looking at Stanford-- the atmosphere/location and the high academic level all appeal to me... but I'm thinking that I want to be an English major with a Creative Writing emphasis. I know they have a program for it, but I'm wondering how good it is. I realize that all high-ranked schools will have good departments in pretty much everything, but I was hoping an alumni or someone with personal experience could tell me what the program's like.</p>
<p>Discriminating Factors:</p>
<ol>
<li><p>The overall level of the school is important to me, which is why I'm not really into University of Iowa. I'd like a student body that is more intellectual as a whole, rather than just one program being really good.</p></li>
<li><p>I'd like a school that's also good with other arts, such as theatre/drama and music.</p></li>
<li><p>A good Psych program, since I think I want to minor in that.</p></li>
