I have taken 11 UC-Transferable A-G courses at my local community college and I got an A in all of them. When I apply to Stanford, how will Stanford weigh these courses? My high school transcript does not have these college courses on them. Thanks!

I had the same question…I took AP Biology over the summer, but my counselor wasn’t able to put the course on the transcript. I put the course and my grades from it in the “Additional Info” section in the writing portion of the Common App. I wasn’t sure what else to do with it :/. I was thinking about sending the Bio transcripts directly to Stanford, but…I’m kind of at a loss too.

Weigh them in what way - for admission or future credit?

Have you sent them the transcript from community college?

in terms of weighing the community college courses for admission. I want to know if Stanford will give me the extra G.P.A. point for the courses when calculating my G.P.A. And no I have not sent them the transcript from the community college yet, as I am confused on what to do. Thanks.

Have you emailed Stanford? Maybe an admissions board member can help.

Your GPA does not really matter to a college and in most cases they are looking at what classes you took and how well you did in them. GPA and additional point only comes into picture for your rank at school.

If you don’t send your transcript, they will not know what you took or how well you did. You need to request it. In commonapp, there is even a section asking you about college level classes.

Thanks I a hundred percent agree with you. My only concern is that will Stanford calculate the community college courses into my G.P.A. during admissions on a 5.0 scale.
