@infinitygirl23 it should be around 3pm Pacific Time either day. Hopefully Friday though!

@KelMoo same! Last year only about 6 people got into Stanford from my city

ok thanks @tyrion14 that means at 6 pm est that’s gonna be a looooong day for me… i have an anatomy test, an AP Spanish test, and it’s the last day at my research lab :(

@infinitygirl23 I’m just going to stress eat the whole day since I have no finals that day

@NWIStudent
Close! I’m 25minutes away from Georgia. I live in the upstate part of South Carolina.

@Govgirl @ryanryanryan My school uses Naviance to send letters of rec, so we sign up for the colleges we are applying to through naviance so that way our teachers will send letters to the correct schools. On naviance, one can see how many other students are applying to a specific school. When I turned in my stanford app 16 had registered(though some may be doing RD (making my estimation have a range). Now, 24 kids have stated that they will be applying, though i am guessing roughly 10-15 of those are RD.
So my guess may not be accurate, I know of at least 6 people, but with a class size of 534, i do not know everyone, and there is sure to be more.
Yes, it is a pretty big school. Suburban San Diego with plenty of kids around. Most of the high schools in our district are about that size, minus the private schools.

Last year around 40 kids applied to stanford from my school in total. 3 got in. two of them had been recruited, and the one who wasn’t was the winner of gay activist of the year (don’t quote me on that, but I know its something like that…) So I am thinking my chances are fairly slim, although I’m still desperately hoping the letter begins with “Congratulations”

About ten years ago four people were accepted to stanford from my school in two years, no one has gone since… My guidance counselor wasn’t even sure if any one had applied since then.

@detwylder feel ya on the congratulations part…a desperate hope! i don’t think my school has ever sent anyone, or at least not in the past ten years…

I had put the Stanford logo as my wallpaper 2 years ago and I just removed it yesterday when I thought about the painful but very likely possibility that I might not get in. Stanford, y u do dis?

I think one person has gotten in in my schools history. He was a two time USAMO qualifier I think and probably qualified for the USAJMO too. I’m sure he had other hooks too.

Currently learning how to play All I Want For Christmas Is You on the piano while thinking about Stanford… :-S

@jk1324 I’m currently doing whatever possible to not think about stanford. So far, I’ve been able to get ahead on 3 math assignments @Govgirl It’s not that my school sends very many people, just the majority have been recruited for sports since I go to a big sports school… Not too great for the people like me who are just adequate sports players.

@detwylder that makes sense – but i bet you have other fantastic qualities. and admissions just has to recognize them. here’s hoping they do! :)

Lol @ivyaspirant14 , I have a Stanford wallpaper on my phone too! But I still have it. It was so awkward the other day when I was showing someone something on my phone and she was like, “Weren’t you deferred?” Ouch. But I still have it tho

I’ve had a stanford wallpaper on my phone since the summer! It’s gonna be a sad day removing it if I get denied.

Pff, only one to apply REA to Stanford? I’m the only one in my school applying to the US!

I took subject tests today. Just wanna give a quick shout out to College Board for making me feel dumb af.

Can I mention that at school we had this assignment to make a 10th circle of hell for Dante’s Inferno and one of my friends put College Board in their 10th circle :))

The struggles with collegeboard. It’s going to suck because it’s actually supposed to get so much better…after we leave
