***Stanford Class of 2019 Applicant Discussion***

No way @nagintapls! Me too! Hopefully it’s a good sign!

so are we 100% sure that decisions are going to come out Friday?

@infinitygirl23‌ no

50% sure? @nagintapls

50% sure 100% hopeful 110% nervous?

Shouldn’t they be telling us very soon?

@infinitygirl23‌ we really don’t know. i guess 50% lol. i hope they announce it soon!

@Ellenak96‌ yes! Their admissions site says that they will be released by this Monday, but they have been releasing them on the Friday before their announced date at 3 PM EST for awhile now, so we are assuming they will be released at that time again. So, expect the email within the next few days if not within the next week.

This day last year was when they announced that decisions were coming out that week so I’m hoping they announce something similar today or tomorrow

On what? Twitter?

@outtocollege2015‌ Yep.

I doubt they will announce anything tonight. It’s already 7:15.

For REA Stanford defers fewer people than it accepts? That seems kind of surprising…

@imagineer10‌ You do realize that it’s 4:20 in California.

Last year’s announcement happened in about half an hour so I wouldn’t lose hope yet @imagineer10‌
It’s a better policy, honestly. Being deferred means you still have a solid shot in the regular decision round while a lot of elite colleges defer a higher percentage of applicants that don’t make it in the regular round. @OrangeLand‌

The reason I’m applying to Stanford is because I don’t want to be surrounded by idiots for the next 4 years. Sometimes I wonder if I should have said that in my application.

@tankfrank13‌
Yea, I agree. It’s better to be rejected when you know they probably won’t look at your application again regular round. It’s funny that it’s harder to be deferred than be accepted :stuck_out_tongue: My friend last year was deferred REA and then waitlisted and was accepted from the waitlist!

@LunarEngineer‌ a lot of the applicants would probably agree, but I’m not sure Stanford would be fond of the whole “I’m better than everyone else” concept

@digony I didn’t realize that you could be waitlisted from REA. I remember somebody ranting sometime about how it was unfair that they couldn’t be waitlisted after applying early action…

@KMizzle‌ You’ve got to be arrogant, but not too arrogant. It’s really hard.
