Most people get an email at 6. Sometimes something goes wrong and you have to call on Monday.

ACCEPTED HOLY FREAKING WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO!!! SCREAMED AND BAWLED MY EYES OUT.

Accepted!

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE THING:

I’ve been without internet for the past 4 something hours. Couldn’t come through with the constant pep talks.

I don’t know if i’ve said this, but YOU ALL ARE SO DAMN AWESOME, EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU, NO MATTER IF YOU WERE ACCEPTED, DEFERRED, OR REJECTED. I know there are some who are like “I don’t want a pity speech” (I have a friend who told this to me today), but you all don’t understand that I genuinely mean what I say. Awesome. DAMN RIGHT YOU ARE. And don’t let anyone, yourselves included, tell you otherwise.
[ul]
[li]Congrats to those who were accepted!! Way to be the cream of the crop and congrats on your 17 years. Enjoy these tears of joy.
[/li]

[li]To those deferred. This is not over. Wipe off those tears, slap yourself out of your wallowing and realize that the 500 or so of you who were deferred are rarer than the actual acceptances (roughly 700). Stanford is waiting for you to kick some serious ass second semester, so it is up to you to do so. I’ll will be waiting with y’all until March.
[/li]

[li]And for the rejected. And? YOU will be the ones laughing with your Fortune 500 CEO friends about how ‘Stanford rejected you’. Today is the 12th. Last I checked, there is still over 2 weeks for RD apps. What are you waiting for?!?! Get up and go get accepted into Harvard already. Like really, an acceptance doesn’t define you, and I am being completely genuine when I say this. GO. KICK. ASS. [/li][/ul]
I LOVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. I do. These months have been so much fun. You all are like a family to me. Don’t leave. Please stay. We are here to support each other until the very end. I know many of you are rolling your eyes at me, thinking “He doesn’t know what I’m going through. He got auto-deferred through QuestBridge. He needs to sit down and STFU.” That’s fine. I still love you and sympathize with you and hope you will all stay just the same. Besides, we have to stay with those who have been patiently waiting their turn for regular decision…

Last note, stay with people. Just don’t be alone. Give yourself a moment, a regal moment, but then it’s time to stay together with your family and friends. Peace, love, and good vibes to all. :)>-

Regular Decision applicants: It’s your turn. The spotlight is on you. :)

Stanford just kicked me in the balls

accepted!!! Praise the Lord! hope to see some of you next year!

to all those who were deferred/rejected, I know this will probably fly past your head right now, but YOU ARE ALL SUCH INCREDIBLE, TALENTED, AMAZING INDIVIDUALS! As amazing as a school Stanford is, it is, yes, still just a school. And there are many more out there where you will all go and succeed! A school can’t hog ALL the talent in the world to itself, right? You guys need to spread your awesomeness all over the world.

So keep on pushing guys! I wish I could hug each and every one of you. You all are the greatest. FIGHT ON.

seriously, @emenya, I think you are sweetest ever!!! Your messages are so kind and thoughtful and supportive and optimistic!!! Keep up the good spirits - we are all worthy of doing good and changing this world, and our actions are most certainly NEVER constrained by the limits of our colleges or educations. Best of luck to those deferred, best wishes to those rejected, looking forward to a great four years to those accepted. :)

Hello to the all you fantastic people! I was wondering, and obviously feel free to say no, if the deferred might want a thread so we can generally share knowledge about the process or whatever?

Just a thought :bz

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I GOT IN IT IS AMAZING THE WORLD IS AMAZING LIFE IS AMAZING

Do we get T-shirts? Are the letters in the mail personalized at all?

deferred :-SS

perhaps we should make accepted and deferral threads. for the sake of everyone’s sanity lol

T-shirts are handed out at Admit Weekend, but you will get some other fun little items over the next few months. The acceptance letter is the same one you got via email, but your regional rep will probably add a handwritten note on it.

I’m posting this late, but I’ve been accepted For all of you that are rejected or deferred, I’m sure you’ll have an amazing impact on whatever campus you end up on. Best of luck to you all!

Hey, everybody! Are there any RDers on here yet? :)

@AppAnxiety. Yes there are…a lot more than last year will be applying in the “regular” round (you think REA was a crazy number…just wait)…since Stanford has reserved two-thirds of their class for the regular round unlike their northeast peers. And as I have said in the very early part of this thread…Stanford applicants (especially the most qualified)…in general (for strategic reasons) tend to be as quiet and want to stay under the “radar” of other applicants…because they don’t “need” to attract any more applicants who desire to be at this “dream” school…

…so, don’t be “surprised” by the CC activity on this thread or any thread on Stanford’s forums to sense how many applicants really want a shot at Stanford…so many do…but, many won’t admit it up front …

…by the way, you may want to start a new thread for the regular applicants…good luck!

Anyone know if it’s hard to switch schools within stanford. Like from humanities to business???

@outtocollege2015. First of all, congratulations on getting in! At Stanford, once you get in…you can switch majors anytime you want. So you can go from humanities/social sciences to engineering/CS to economics/pre-business majors to music/art to some hard core science major…or any combination…as long as you can handle the “new” major(s)…

…there are no restrictions or departmental constrictions as in some other schools…students are free to sample and experiment with other interesting or intriguing courses or majors…and, to be frank, Stanford encourages this :D…
