@Waitlistgang1 That’s super awesome!
@ScienceGeekGirl I’m not sure… I received mine two minutes ago. As I observed on social media quite a few students that did get off the list were notified last Friday. Those of you that received the email as well, feel free to join us in our short lived sorrow, haha.
Hey guys, sorry for those who got taken off today. I’m sure you all have great alternate options that will help you achieve just as much going forward.
Also, does anyone have any information about the extended waitlist?
i actually just got put on the extended waitlist today about 3 hours ago. they said they’ll email me before july 1st. i guess the waiting isn’t quite over yet, but still excited!
There’s such a thing as an extended waitlist??? Of course you don’t have to tell me, but are you legacy by any chance?
yes, i’m legacy.
I just got notified that I’m on the extended waitlist and that we will find out on or before July 1st. Do you think there’s any chance? I am not a legacy.
so glad to hear about someone else on the extended waitlist! i’ve been trying to find articles or forums about the extended waitlist, but i’m not really finding anything. it’d be nice to know around what time people got notified in previous years because may-july is a pretty large window.
Yeah same here, no legacy. Couldn’t find anything either. Does anyone have an estimate for the number of people placed on it?
no idea. i’m not really sure what they mean by “small” list.
Sadly, now my research has come to great use xD In the year of 2009 Stanford did use the extended waitlist and according to that thread it seems like most of them got accepted with great financial aid packages So best of luck and I truly hope after all this waiting you guys get in
Thanks a lot @equivocal17!
Found the thread too: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/714176-stanford-extended-waitlist-p13.html
Seems like Stanford might continue to narrow down the waitlist slowly.
Has anyone else not received an email?
Anyone know why they are calling the high school first and then telling the student? Are they checking GPA’s or just letting the school know?
@ogolson how do you know they are calling the school 1st?
Read the previous comments on this thread. People who just got pulled off the waitlist said their guidance counselor was called first.
I have not received any reply yet. what does that mean?
I have not received anything yet either
Anyone here anything? I think I’ve given up.
