NOT living in Palo Alto but in a 25mile radius. Yes, she will help in the summers.
Thank you for responding.
I was waitlisted and I know they don’t want you to directly send anything to the AOs, but should I write a LOCI and put in on my portal? I don’t want to come off as overbearing since they give the 500 character update option.
Exciting news! I just received a note from my admissions officer, who specifically talked about how they enjoyed my Common App and intellectual vitality essays. Nothing mentioned about my ECs. I suppose I can all but confirm that’s what made me stand out.
With an admission rate of under 4%, many excellent candidates were rejected or waitlisted. Nobody really knows what’s behind the scene other than the AOs. Last year, there was an admit even though its Optics research paper was retracted due to research misconduct and self plagiarism.
Admissions decisions are final. To my knowledge, there is no avenue to appeal. Community members (the elderly, the students) could have submitted a letter on your daughter’s behalf as part of her application, but after a decision is rendered, I believe it is too late. Your daughter sounds like a caring community member who really makes a difference – and will continue to do so. Her next community will be lucky to have her. Perhaps she has a friend or fellow student in the area who she can ask to replace her with these community members who benefit from and appreciate her service.
We got our swag box today - nice!
Well Done !!! Im from the UK aswell hoping to apply next year is it possible for you to send your stats and ECs and what major you applied for
Has anyone received an accepted (but not confirmed enrolled) student packet or swag box? DD was accepted but we are without packet/swag box and want to know if this is usual.

Accepted.
From Stanford Daily news:
Stanford will require all undergraduate, graduate and professional students coming to campus this fall to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, according to a Thursday email from Provost Persis Drell.
The requirement comes as the availability of vaccines increases nationwide and a growing number of peer institutions — including Columbia, Yale, Brown and Cornell — release their own plans to require the shot for their students’ return in the fall.
