It is almost over. Whatever results you receive today...yes, no, or waitlisted...you will find a school that will EMBRACE you and you them. Good luck to one and all!

I can’t wait to open my rejection.

I got accepted to USC today, which in the face of the impossibility of Stanford has become my realistic top choice, so I won’t be too disappointed at all with the rejection I’m expecting later today.

@lanawinters Yay, a fellow Trojan if Stanford rejects us :P

Everyone be sure to post your results, and where you will probably end up going!

Is it coming in waves starting at 3 PM PT ?

^ I was wondering the same thing. Do they have an order for acceptances vs. rejections, or is it all at once…

Also, anybody know the acceptance rate this year or how many RD applicants were admitted?

For what it’s worth, on early action notification day this year it definitely seemed like there was no association at all between the timing of the email and the decision. My email didn’t arrive right at 3:00 PST either, so don’t worry if it’s a bit late. Good luck!

If you are turned down at the most selective Ivies, does that mean you have no chance at Stanford? Does Stanford ever accept students that those schools do not?

I was rejected by all the 6 colleges I applied to (stanford is the 7th). I guess it was the fact I asked for a lot of financial aid (almost a full-ride) and I’m an international student from El Salvador.
It’s ironic that I will receive the last and most obvious rejection in my life here haha.

Good luck all! And like gravitas2 said, being rejected from Stanford does NOT means you aren’t great. Wherever you go, you’ll rock :).

I read somewhere people were predicting 3.9% for the rd rate.

I was just talking to a friend at lunch who is an athlete and will receive his formal acceptance today. He was saying that the ivy that was recruiting him wanted to admit him early action.

For what its worth, I think that this plays a large part in the descrepency between Stanford’s EA rate vs the ivies.

I have been rejected by Harvard and waitlisted at Duke and Yale. Stanford is the final decision I’m waiting for. Hope it goes on well. Wish all of you all the best:-)

Waiting on Stanford. Accepted by Columbia and Carnegie Mellon. Waitlisted by Harvard, defered and rejected by Mit.

Rejected everywhere (17 colleges). WL MIT. It’s Stanford or Stony Brook for me.

@majorsenor

Ouch.

@majorsenor that’s rough, like two daddys under blankets

Do they send decisions via email?

yes

Oh gosh i am soooooo nervous
