<p>Actually, on Stanford's website, they say their strongest applicants have at least a 650 in both Verbal and Math, and a 3.6 unweighted GPA... Just wanted to clarify from early post that claimed 3.9 unweighted. But Stanford especially I've seen has always been more on the side of taking other things outside test scores into great consideration.</p>
<p>Maybe I'm just biased though, because I was at a creative writing program there this summer and made the mistake of falling in love. I'm applying regular decision with a letter from the program director and fingers that are crossed, although in a weird way I'd be sort of relieved--means I'll be going back east (where I'm originally from) for college after all :) So I'll be ecstatic if I get in, but I won't be wrecked if I get rejected. TANGENT OF THE CENTURY. Anyways:</p>
<p>I'm a California resident, and someone said that might hurt you to be out-of-state... I highly doubt it. It will at UC-Berkeley because we're so poor, and they're raising the bar for both in-state and out-of-state applicants higher and higher each year, but the percentage of out-of-state students at Stanford is actually higher than those in-state, although just slightly.</p>

johnst you're a nut-in a good way of course. Laurak, thanks so much for the input, I suppose thats a bit reassuring. Who knows, we have a month (less!!) till we find out then we have to wait months for RD, oh well. okay, I've got two AP tests tommorow-French and Bio.</p>
