<p>I made an error on the "Future Plans" section of my common app by indicating the wrong major. Can I email them and ask them to fix the error or would they be annoyed to hear from applicants?</p>

<p>i guess you could if it really, really mattered to you, but to be honest that section probably makes no actual influence on the admission decision at all. stanford doesn’t have quotas for majors, nor are you admitted to certain schools/departments, nor is your decision based on whether your stats and achievements fit the specific major you indicated. if it’s switching one type of engineering to another type of engineering, or biology to chemistry, or english to history, or something, i dont think i would bother</p>
