So I'm applying to Stanford and currently I'm at a dilemma. I've written two essays for the common app an don't know which to send. Ones about a time I had an accident that sent me to the ER and changed my perspective. The others about me taking a science fair project to the next level but failing. I've heard that Stanford like people who are passionate and whatnot and I'm doubting whether my first essay gives off that vibe....anyways thoughts? Any advice from alumni or current students??

I’m not an alum or Stanford student, but my two cents are: pick the one that better shows who you really are and which shows you as an interesting person that would be an asset to any group (or college) they joined.

My advice would be to go with the second essay if you feel the first one doesn’t convey that message.

I always recommend to go with a unique essay. If you have a story that almost anyone can tell then its not worth it unless you are a really great writer
