Stanford Graduate School?

Ok so I was denied admission today from Stanford for the undergraduate class of 2019..can't deny I'm disappointed. It still remains as my perfect college though, so I really want to go there for grad school. Anyone here know the acceptance rate for the School of Engineering, and how what to do during my undergrad as to maximize my chances of acceptance?

@vctrm67. I am sorry to hear about your decision. I know you will get into another excellent school! If you are planning to apply to an advanced engineering program in the future…the acceptance rate unfortunately gets even more stiff…and will also depend on which department you are seeking to enter…some of the most difficult will be in electrical engineering and CS…

I’m sorry to hear that but please know that there are a lot of great schools out there and best of luck in finding the right fit for you.

For what it’s worth, I’m sure there are many Stanford graduate students who would not have been admitted as undergrads, and vice versa, and this is true at other highly selective schools also.

Undergrad admissions at these schools is a holistic process and thus hard to predict. For many grad programs (especially PhD programs) it’s more focused on grades, test scores, recommendations etc. in the particular field. I’m not saying it’s easier to get in, just that the criteria tend to be more predictable.
