<p>Here are my current stats (I'm a junior right now). I'm strongly considering the following colleges:</p>

<p>Chinese American female (naturalized US citizen)
Currently a junior
California resident
Upper middle class ($130k-150k income bracket)
Prospective major: biology (premed route)
Will have amazing recs from chemistry teacher (science dept. head) and counselor (who deals with 500 students); good rec from English teacher (for 2 years); know this because they wrote me recs for summer programs. Probably an additional rec from the Stanford professor I'll be interning with this summer.</p>
<p>GPAs:
Freshman year: 4.0 UW
Sophomore year: 4.0 UW, 4.333 W
Junior year: 4.0 UW, 4.857 W
Never got below a solid A in high school, though some teachers don't show the A+s that I got, and took high school classes in middle school.
School doesn't rank, but if it did, I'd be 2/669.
We've had a tradition of 1 person going on to Stanford every year, and there are always at least one or two others who end up at amazing schools like Harvard, Princeton, etc. Our class (2007) is the most competitive in recent years.</p>
<p>Most rigorous curriculum available at competitive (though not insane) public school. Currently taking 3 APs and 3 honors classes. I plan for 5 APs for senior year.</p>

Nonprofit public charity raising money to build a library at an elementary school in a rural Chinese village near parents' hometown - Founder & Director, raised $2500; supplied with books & computers (11-12)
Rehabilitation Center - Volunteer working with patients one-on-one in individual recreational therapy; assisted in group occupational and physical therapy (11-12, can get great rec if I want to from supervisor)
Taught English to a class of seventh- and eighth-grade students in China for two weeks for free; complete control over lesson plans and class; total of 30 hours in classroom (10)
