Stanford, Ivies, UCs, etc. Chances for a Rising Senior

whoa... nice scores =)

as a Stanford admit this year I think you have an amazing chance there. But there's always the unknown factors, and Stanford heavily emphasizes essays. Be sure to work on those (I'm sure you will) and I think you have a 50% chance. You have to really distinguish yourself for Stanford, as in really pinpoint a certain thing you want to focus on and do - a particular speciality or whatever. But people always get scr**ed over by these things, so don't be too disappointed if you don't get it...It doesn't make you any less of an outstanding person. :)

"Chinese village near parents' hometown - Founder & Director, raised $2500; supplied with books & computers (11-12)"

As soon as i read that, my mouth went wide open.

Honestly, you have a great chance at stanford if you write good essays. My stats are horrible compared to yours, but with my amazing essays that I spent 4 months on, I got in.

Irvine is 100%, since you'll be elc. Davis + Regent's is 99%. San Diego + Regents = 85%.

I think you will get into most if not all of the schools you apply to. Really-I totally envy your stats =p
Although it seems like you're anticipating that you'll win something in siemens/intel and also some other awards...I wouldn't go into those things thinking that you'll win, because you'll be distressed if you don't. Also, I think it's more important that you enjoy whatever ECs you pursue. To me that's more important than amassing so many awards.

Well, there's my advice. I can't guarantee the validity of these ideas cause I haven't been admitted to college yet. But seriously, just relax and write good essays. You'll def get into stanford either scea or rd.

Chillaxin, I'm a junior, too...and I just have to say. WOW.

I come nowhere near some of your ECs (though I do have to say, I have some good ones, as well as great grades). And I was hoping on an acceptance to Stanford, but I guess you never know, right?

Anyway, just wanted to say great job! I wish I had internships with big colleges, etc. available in my area.

P.S. Do those PSATs really matter? I mean, other than the NMSQT factor of them, they don't count for anything. Sure, being an NMS is a big deal, but my school really didn't emphasize that, so I didn't prepare for them. I thought it was just an SAT primer of sorts.

uh. tomtomtom's comment was uncalled for and unnecessary.

but yeah, chillaxin, i'm thoroughly impressed. i'm sure you will end up somewhere great and somewhere you'll be happy. some of your stats remind me of my own, although, like everyone else has been saying, i come nowhere close to you.
