How bad would your grades need to be senior year for Stanford to rescind your offer? I'm just wondering because I got in and I kinda got a 63 on my cal bc final which brings my semester average to like an 85, but it's just in that one class.

i dont think it would start to make a difference until all your a's turned into b's

That's what I'm pulling for. I'm positive that won't happen. I mean, cal bc has been giving me problems all year long.

Talk to your teacher, start a study group, get a tutor, whatever it takes to manage it. It's a problem that is much easier to solve at this point in the year than later.

Like I said, it shouldn't be that big of a problem, especially since I won't be taking that final next semester, but I really want to know when they would start to get worried. I mean, an 85 isn't that bad, is it?

Chilll, an 85 is perfectly fine. They'll only get worried once you get Cs or something. I mean people get into Stanford without perfect GPAs so they must have had Bs right? So you need to stop worrying.

Yeah, it takes quite a bit to have an offer rescinded. You'll be ok.

Thank God. It's a good thing I won't take finals next semester, because I more or less blew them off...never again!

I don't know what the cutoff is, but it is somewhat well-known (at least with people who go to Stanford) that they are slightly more strict when it comes to grading. I would say you don't want your term GPA to go down more than .5-.75, otherwise it may get a little ugly.

I worried about exactly the same thing after I got admitted early action (class of '08) and for exactly the same reasons (B's in Physics C and Calc BC after straight As junior year). Trust me, it's not going to matter. It really, really won't. You'd need a pretty precipitous drop to make them rescind you (like from As to Cs)...so please, just enjoy your senior year.
