Hi. I was really lucky to accepted from Stanford REA and received a likely letter from Brown!
I’m not certain, but I am interested in the psychology major. (or bio is good too!)
I like warm weather, so Stanford relatively appeals to me more, but I also really like Brown’s social culture and open-curriculum.
For a female, Asian, relatively international(I’ve been here for 3 years), what kind of experience will I have in each and how does the academic atmosphere differ in these two?
Please share your precious thoughts
As far as I know, Stanford is a very techy schools (has a lot of computer science and engineering students) and Brown appeals more to liberal arts students. The area around Brown is really cold but I think you’ll find more students like you with similar interests there since you want to be a psychology major.
@basketball98 well… Stanford ranks the top in psychology major.
Between the two there are no bad choices. But there are lots of Asians in the Silicon Valley, you will blend right in.
Sorry I should have been more clear. Although Stanford ranks higher in its psychology major, Brown has a stronger liberal arts vibe present on campus. That’s what I meant.
Stanford is a more vibrant and innovative place. I would go there if you think you want to work in tech in the future.
