Stanford Vs. Brown?

I really want to attend these colleges. (For Undergraduate degree) i want to go into law or computers.

Which is better?

That’s like asking “which is better: pizza or pasta?” Pizza and Pasta are both good foods for the vast majority of people. Yet they are different. When one does a poll, one may come out as better or worse for the population as a whole. Though that poll may indicate which you may prefer, you could end up disliking one or the other or maybe even both!

Same thing with colleges. Every college is different. Though Brown and Stanford are both top schools, they have many noticeable and influential differences. What are you looking for? In the end I could say Stanford is better, but if you end up hating California as soon as you set foot there you would disagree with me. And that’s fine. No one school is good for everyone.

That said, Stanford actually is better for everyone :).

If you are more specific with your questions (like first defining what you mean by computers) I’d be glad to give you a more detailed response. What are you looking for, both socially and academically, in your ideal college? Do you have any preferences or worries about the locations? The more specific the better.

Although you might not get much help here regarding Brown, you can definitely learn a lot about Stanford. So I suggest asking this in the Brown forum as well, if you haven’t already.

I want to go into either Law, or Computer Science. I also live in LA, and i dont hate it, i just like it up north better, and back east.

Okay that’s a start. At this point though I’d only feel comfortable answering your question on “which is better” with a very, very long response. Many of the things said in the response would not be relevant to you. I might not get to some things you wanted to know about. It would be a waste of both of our time.

So do you have any questions that, if answered, will help you decide with is better? Because ultimately you are the only one that can make that decision. We can only help you get there.

I like Stanford better, just because classes are not taught by TA’s and i really like the Environment. So i think i am going with Stanford, for right now. I will think about Harvard for my Law degree if i choose to take that path for my Graduate School.

The chances are very slim you will be accepted to either- let alone both.

It had to be said.

Senior0991, pizza is lightyears ahead of pasta.

im not going to word it like soyeah did…
but please remember you have to GET IN first before you start making decisions of where you want to attend
unless of course you are being majorly massively seriously recruited (like one of their top recruits)

i think the OP is probably deciding which school to apply to early, right? Brown iirc is ED, so yeah he has to pretty much rank them now.
