Hey all! So, I'm new to CC as far as posting goes, but I have thoroughly enjoyed reading through all the forums throughout this very stressful college admission process. It's a wonderful place to get a lot of helpful information from very friendly and bright indivduals!

I was recently accepted into both Stanford and Princeton, but I'm having a very tough time making a decision. Both are excellent schools and cost the same for my family, so I'm trying to decide which I should attend. I'm planning to major in economics at the undergraduate level and maybe continue on to business school or law school in the future. Any advice or words of wisdom from CCers on any aspects of either of the schools would be welcome and much appreciated.

Stanford does seem to have a bit more grade inflation than Princeton, according to [National Trends in Grade Inflation, American Colleges and Universities](http://www.gradeinflation.com) . This may be important if you want to go to law school.

For economics, consider course offerings and faculty research interests in the various subareas of economics and related subjects like math, statistics, and psychology. If you have are strong feelings about the subareas of economics, you may want to consider the school with more course offerings and research opportunities in those subareas.

You may also want to ask the schools’ career centers what companies come recruiting economics majors at each school.

Many professors believe that Princeton has the best Economics program in the US. One of Harvard’s most respected professors, Gregory Mankiw, stated that he believed that Princeton has the best econ dept. Regardless, the difference between the two school will be minimal so choose the school which you fit in better.
