Stanford SCEA

So I am basically pondering if I should apply SCEA or regular decision, and i was wondering if you guys could help.

GPA UW: 3.5 GPA W: 4.3 (Stanford would probably calculate it as a 4.15)
Class Rank: Top 5%
ACT: Composite= 31 Essay= 10
SAT: 630 CR 720 M 720 W
SAT II: 720 Chem 690 USH 710 Math 2
AP Testing: 7 taken, all passed at the very least (6 more will be taken this year)

EC:
JV Tennis (9,10)
Varsity Tennis (11)
Model United Nations (9,10,11,12) (President 12, and Secretary 10)
Speech and Debate (10,11,12) (PFD Captain 12)
NHS (11,12)
Mayor's youth council (10,11,12) (Points Commissioner 11, Vice Chairperson 12)
Lab Research (150+ hours)(11,12)
Volunteer at Hospital (300 hours)(9,10.11,12)

I was wondering whether I should apply early or not because I know if I wait I can raise my gpa somewhat as well as increase my SAT and ACT scores. What do you guys think I should do? I really want to go to Stanford.

I am also an AP Scholar with Honors, and National Merit Commended.

And 3 years of Academic Decathlon, with one year as captain

help me out please, i really don’t know what to do. I’m leaning towards waiting for RD.

It’s a pretty easy decision. Ask yourself, can my application get any stronger by waiting until january 1st to apply?

if the answer is yes, then wait till RD. if the answer is no, then apply REA.

^ True.

I will add, however, that unhooked candidates with a 3.5 UW GPA are accepted only in exceedingly rare cases.

3.5 is top 5%???

I am going for RD because I can improve my GPA by 0.1 and SAT by quite a lot.
How are your essays going? For people like us who don’t have extraordinary grades compared to other Stanford applicants, essays are probably among our main weapons. If your essays aren’t fantastic right now, wait for RD.

I was in a similar situation last year, just wait and retake your scores.
