Wow .#1 both in the student survey and the parent survey.

I can understand the parent survey. Academics combined with a safe, beautiful campus isolated from the crime you get in some urban locations makes for an appealing choice.

I am a little surprised with the student choice. An Ivy League education still carries a lot of weight.

Actually, that Stanford was a top student choice made more sense to me than the parent survey result: the sunny California weather, laid back vibe, and big sports scene aspects are very appealing to kids. But I would have thought the parents would have had a more conservative, “safe” opinion and thus would have stuck with the tried and true old elite schools regardless of how dreary New England can be, lol.

Dang it. Everyone likes my dream school! So everyone will apply, lowering my chances of getting in! I wish I liked a secret school, that no one knew about…

If it was unknown, would you still like it then? Would its promises of an elite education ever even reach your eyes and ears?

nope! LOL
…jk jk…if i like it i like it! I’m not a follower…i just HAPPEN 2 like the school that everyone else in America does…

Meh. I disagree. I would easily place Stanford on the same tier as HYP. Same acceptance rate, same level of rigor.

Especially for those of us interested in engineering/computer science, Stanford makes a lot more sense.

I participated in this! Woot! I’m one of 9,132 college applicants. haha. I voted Yale as mine dream school though. =D
