Hey, so I thought we should start our very own thread! It's going to be quite a journey from now until we hear back in mid-May so I figure why not use this time to get to know each other right? To start off, say

1) the year you're applying for
2) general description of the college you're in now
3) how your HS stats were in comparison to the rest of your HS class (below average, average, above average, excellent) and how competitive your HS was
3) your hometown if you're comfortable saying it (it could be as vague or specific as you want)

You guys are free to disclose whatever info you want but I like to keep things pretty vague for anonymity's sake.

I’m next:
Sophomore, top 7 Uni. in China, graduated top of class in HS/ well, HS’s in China, so… not comparable, a central city in China. Seemed to be stucked in one place forever so decided to transfer…

yay let’s get this thread going. who else is applying? with a 1.5% acceptance rate, i feel like charlie trying to get into willy wonka’s chocolate factory.

curious question though: how come instead of admitting a flat 20, they accepted 21? is that the exact # of beds available or do they have some leeway in adding one more person in if they really really want that person?

If no idea, but if I were to guess, I’d say that attrition and freshman matriculation could have something to do with it… Or, I’m sure if they indeed REALLY wanted someone, they could find a way to admit him/her.

hey liontreelion, i’d love to swap essays if you want to. i’m at a ca community college right now, and i just finished my Stanford app. it’s cool to read postings from other people who decided to shoot for the stars and apply anyway, despite the ridiculous chances haha. 1% is almost harder than winning the lottery ha.
